Our Programs

Pilot Program students

why prioritize computer literacy skills?

Computer literacy is essential for our students because it directly impacts their ability to access employment opportunities in the local customer service industry, which is one of the few sectors consistently hiring in our community. Employers expect applicants to be comfortable with digital tools, quickly learn new customer service platforms, and type efficiently—typically at speeds of 20–30 words per minute—while accurately entering information in real time during phone interactions. For students from under-resourced backgrounds, developing these skills is not only a technical requirement but a critical pathway to economic mobility, enabling them to compete in the job market and succeed in fast-paced, technology-driven work environments.

Pilot Program

This is an 8-month program offering English language training to a small group of seniors from the public high school in El Progreso. The scope of the program is to prepare students who are already advanced beginners and lead them to a B1 competency level, thus enabling them to be ready for internships in customer service/support roles in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

Currently, there are no English Language training programs in the San Pedro Sula (SPS) metropolitan area that provide teenagers from marginalized communities with quality education to develop both their language skills and basic computer knowledge to a level where they could qualify for a hiring opportunity at BPO & IT companies.

Who Can Participate?

For 2024, the Pilot Program is open only to seniors from Instituto Perla del Ulua, the public high school in El Progreso City, Honduras. To qualify, seniors must have taken at least two years of English courses offered by their public school’s curriculum. Depending on the Pilot Year’s results, this requirement may be lowered for future generations.

hear from our graduates

With the daily conversational practice we had, I did not know the exact moment when I began to make progress but realizing that I did was very satisfying. All of this was possible thanks to those who were present, both my classmates and the teachers, who always gave me their support and motivation.”

Jennyfer, Class of ‘24

“Thanks to the knowledge I gained during the course, I can easily communicate with foreigners at work and understand their needs.”

Anely, Class of ‘25

I learned to communicate better in English, expanded my vocabulary, and acquired more professional knowledge that is useful for my university studies today. Each class included dynamic activities, games, and exercises that made the learning much more comprehensive.”

Samantha, Class of ‘25
